Area churches and residents have set up a relief fund for victims of the Germann wildfire. The fund has been set up at the State Bank of Drummond. Every penny donated will go to folks affected by the fire. A committee of local residents of the affected areas will decide where funds will be best spent in triage fashion, with those in the most urgent need being highest priority. Checks can be given directly to any of the three branch banks.(Drummond, Cable, and Barnes) Checks should be made out to: Northern WI Wildfire Victims Fund. Monetary donations and donations of food and clothing can be dropped off at The Oaks Church in Drummond, Living Hope Community Church of Cable, and Trinity Lutheran Church of Cable. (More drop-off sites are expected to be added soon.) Checks can also be mailed to: PO Box 97 Drummond, WI 54832. The most up to date information concerning this fund can be found on Facebook: Northern WI Wildfire Fund. Please message through Facebook if you know of people with specific needs as a result of the wildfire. Also, there will be a great need for handy folks to help with construction and cleanup jobs. Free Trees!
One year old tree seedlings are available for those effected by the fire. They include, Red & White pine, Jack pine, Walnut, Plum, Black Cherry, Dogwood, and Birch.   Call the number above if you are interested.
