LOAD RESTRICTIONS Pursuant to Section 348.16, Wisconsin Statutes, the Bayfield County Highway Department will impose road restrictions beginning TODAY at 2:00 P.M. – TUESDAY, February 20, 2024. Please check our web page for updated information. bayfieldcounty.wi.gov – Departments – Highway. All Class A County Road restrictions (lettered roads) shall be posted for 6 Tons maximum per single axle and 10 ton maximum per tandem axle group. Class B County Highway D shall be posted at 60% of Class A Highways. All non – divisible overweight permits will be suspended at this time. Exception to the posting: CTH-E from USH 63 to Nelson Rd., CTH-F from USH 63 westerly 1-mile, CTH–J north from STH 13 for 1.2 miles.

The Tax Levy of $901,006 (approx. 3% increase over 2023) was approved at the Elector's Meeting November 21st. The 2024 Budget was also adopted and can be found on this website under "Documents", "Town Financial Information". Tax bills were mailed out the the first week of December.
The updated Comprehensive Plan as proposed is available for viewing (see Related Links) and a Public Hearing was held on December 19th.
