COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING COMMITTEE NEEDS YOU! The Town of Barnes is looking for interested parties to serve on a committee beginning July 1, 2022 and concluding within 12 months to work with Bayfield County and other Towns, Cities and Villages to update our Comprehensive Plan. This would include updating critical population and housing statistics and projections (20 year), land use projections in 5 year increments and the updating of maps and tables. The Northwest Regional Planning Commission would meet with the plan commission up to three times over the planning window.
FIREWORKS PERMITS are available in the clerk's office (or you can print the permit found under Town Operations, Private Fireworks Displays Require Permit on this website), cost is $5/day and proof of liability insurance is required. By Town ordinance, fireworks are permitted one week before and one week after the 4th of July.
BE AWARE! A wolf pack has been seen in Tomahawk Lake Park so use caution when walking the trails.
SUMMER HOURS OF OPERATION AT THE TRANSFER SITE BEGAN APRIL 1ST. OPEN WEDNESDAYS, SATURDAYS AND SUNDAYS, 8am-2pm. The Brush Pit is open the same days/hours.

NEW FEES AT THE TRANSFER SITE EFF. 1/1/2022: Garbage bag fee increase-$3.00/13gal bag, $4.00/33gal bag and $5.00 for all larger bags and unlined cans. Fees for some items have increased - check with a Transfer Site employee or on this website for current fees.
