Minutes of the Town of Barnes Planning Commission

                                             July 16, 2009

                                                 4:00PM

Planning Commission members present: Dave Pease, Dick Webb, Gene Ratzel, Diane Rupnow.

Members Absent: Mitch McGee

Alternate absent: Duke Marten.

Public Present: Nancy Walsh, Linda Mackley, Marty Katzmarek, JoAnne Katzmarek, John Harkness.

The meeting was called to order by Chairman Dave Pease.

Roll call to establish quorum.

Agenda read.

Motion (Ratzel/ Webb) to dispense with the reading of the minutes from the last meeting and to approve the minutes. Motion carried.

Public Comments:

John Harkness spoke about the status of the overlay amendment. The tentative plan is that it will go to the zoning committee in August.

Zoning, Land Use Applications:  

1- Nancy Walsh and Linda Mackley, 50540 Sunset Resort Road. Variance request to allow for building a deck.    

Motion (Webb/ Ratzel) to approve the request.  Discussion: Nancy Walsh provided background information and Dick Webb provided additional information. There is a letter from the Conservation Department that states there is a good buffer zone and that runoff from the structure goes to the back, away from the water. No opposition has been received.  Motion carried. Rupnow recused from the vote.

Motion (Webb/ Rupnow) to adjourn at 4:12. Motion carried.
