Minutes of the Town of Barnes Planning Commission

                                             September 11, 2008

4:00PM

Planning Commission members present: Gene Ratzel, Dave Pease, Dick Webb, Diane Rupnow.

Members Absent: Mitch McGee.

Alternate absent: Duke Marten

Also Present: Sally Archambeau, Danny Archambeau, Jeff Fullington, Travis Fullington.

The meeting was called to order by Chairman Dave Pease.

Roll call to establish quorum.

Agenda read.

Motion (Rupnow/ Ratzel) to approve agenda. Motion carried.

Motion ( Rupnow/ Webb) to dispense with the reading of the minutes from the last meeting and to approve the minutes with an amendment to remove Dick Webb’s name as the author. Motion carried.

Public Comments: none

Zoning, Land Use Applications:  

1- Dan Archambeau, 54630 Loon Lake Road; Conditional Use Permit to place a second residence on a parcel that cannot be subdivided.  

Motion (Rupnow/ Ratzel) to approve the request.  Discussion. There is currently a mobile home on the property that had an addition. The plan is to move that trailer and finish the home. There is a second trailer on the property that the owner has agreed to have removed by June 1, 2009. The septic is OK. Amendment to the motion (Ratzel/ Webb)the the storage trailer will be removed by June 1, 2009. Motion carried.

2- Jeff and Maureen Fullington and Travis Fullington, 3224 Deer Grove Road; special use application, home based business, repair of small engines.

Motion (Rupnow/ Webb) to approve the request.  Discussion. The building is already on the property. The property is also a resort and is kept tidy. Concern is outside storage of equipment. Amendment to the motion (Ratzel/ Webb) that there will be no outside storage of equipment. Motion carried.

Commission Reports:

We need to get a committee to meet with the POA regarding the overlay zoning districts. Will check with Karl to see what needs to be done next and what he needs to start this process.

Motion (Webb/ Ratzel) to adjourn at 4:30. Motion carried.
