May 10, 2007MINUTES OF THE TOWN OF TOWN ROADS & RIGHT OF WAY COMMITTEE MEETING May 10, 2007 The meeting was called to order at 2:03 PM by Chairman, Greg Martin. Those present were committee members: Mitch Mcgee, Jack Meinke, Dick Webb, Greg Martin and Jerry Witt. The agenda was read and approved. Agenda was posted in accordance with State Statutes. Minutes of meeting held April 26, 2006 were presented. A motion was made by Mitch and seconded by Jack to dispense with the reading of the minutes. Motion carried. A review of the tentative Road & Right-of-way Policy was held. A discussion was held regarding Validations of Roads section and the following is to be added. The road committee recommends that the town should aggressively pursue abandonment of roads that do not serve the interest of the town. The town should also pursue abandonment of roads that the cost of upgrading to meet current geometric standards, and/or adequate right of ways and turnarounds, to meet the requirements for safety and maintenance that cannot be justified as a public expense. The next meeting will be held on Thursday May 24, 2007 at 2:00PM at the Town Hall. A motion to by Jerry to adjourn the meeting was seconded by Mitch. Motion carried.
