MINUTES OF THE

TOWN OF BARNES

TOWN ROADS & RIGHT OF WAY COMMITTEE MEETING

FEBRUARY 22, 2007

The meeting was called to order at 2:00 PM by Chairman Greg Martin.

Those present were committee members:  Mitch Mcgee, Jack Meinke, Dick Webb, Greg Martin and Jerry Witt. 

Minutes of meeting held February 8, 2007 was presented.  A motion was made by Jack and seconded by Jerry to dispense with the reading of the minutes.  Motion carried.

Motion by Jerry that the name of the committee shall be Town Roads and Right of Way Committee was seconded by Jack.  Motion carried.

A general discussion was held regarding minimum geometric standards.

It was determined to make a mission statement to be referenced at each meeting.  This mission statement will then be finalized and presented to the Town Board for approval as policy.

Validation of roads – it is currently the feeling of the committee that roads are validated as public roads by use and maintenance of ten years by the Town.

It was determined that the committee makes a recommendation to the Town Board to communicate the newly developed policy according to State Statutes.

The Town Roads & Right of Way Committee meets on the 2^nd and 4^th Thursdays of each month at 2:00 PM at the Town Hall.  However, due to a scheduling conflict, the next meeting will be held Wednesday, March 7^th at 2:00 PM at the Town Hall.

Motion by Dick to adjourn the meeting was seconded by Jerry.  Motion carried.
