Special Town Board Meeting October 7, 2010
MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL TOWN BOARD MEETING Of October 7, 2010 Chair Lu Peet called the Special Town Board Meeting to order at 5:07PM. Roll call was taken and all were present. Clerk-Treasurer Brustad verified the meeting was posted as required. The agenda for the meeting is as follows: Agenda 1) Open Bids for ramp and front entrance reconstruction at Town Hall 2) Budget review for 2011 budget 3) Closed Session. The Town Board of the Town of Barnes will meet in regular session to go into a closed session pursuant to State Statute 19.85(c) “considering employment, promotion, compensation or performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility. The board will reconvene to the regular session immediately after the closed session. Brustad reported one bid was received. She opened the bid by Greg Martinson Construction. Motion (McGee/Webb) to accept the bid by Greg Martinson Construction and to keep with the original specs, with aluminum railings for $22,500.00, provided it can be completed this year. Roll call vote taken and all responded yes. Motion carried. Budget items were discussed, Brustad asked for clarification on the radio grant application. The board had originally said the highway department would go to mobile phones, but we still had 3 base stations. Renz indicated we would need his base station and also the one in the hall in case of emergency. The radio grant was due the next day. It was decided to go for two base stations for now. Motion (Meinke/Webb) to go into closed session pursuant to State Statute 19.85(c) “considering employment, promotion, compensation or performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility. Roll call vote taken and all responded yes. Motion carried. The Board adjourned to closed session at 7:56 PM. Motion (Porter/Webb) to return to open session. Motion carried. The board returned to open session at 8:58PM. There were no motions made in closed session and the board discussed only items pertaining to the statute listed. The next meeting will be at 5:00PM on October 19th. Motion (McGee/Porter) to adjourn the meeting of October 7, 2010. Motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 9:00PM.
