March 24, 2010 Minutes
Town Hall Maintenance Committee Meeting Minutes 3/24/10 The committee meeting was called to order at 9:00am Members present: Steve Hunter, Mitch McGee, Bob Paszak, Mike Tremblay The agenda consisted of 3 items: What to do about the airflow and insulation issues in the ceiling of the town hall It was decided that we would prepare a spec packet that would cover these issues and the removal of the ramp entrance to the offices. The spec would include: Installing air shoots between the rafters, extending the rafters down 2 inches, installing 6” of insulation between the rafters, sheeting over the insulation and leveling the upper layer of insulation. In addition the spec would include the removal of the entrance ramp to the office, and the necessary work to make it safe for a period of time. This spec will need to be reviewed with the Town Board and then if they approve it would go out for bids. Steve volunteered to put the spec together. How to proceed with the ADA and entrance issues The issues that were discussed were the ADA ramp and parking, the front entrance and the entrance to the offices. We agreed that all 3 areas should be addressed together. The first step would be to update the engineering specs to concrete for the ramp. Then at the same time have the engineering firm prepare drawings and specs for the other 2 entrances. We agreed that if practical all 3 would be reinstalled with concrete. After we get the drawings and specs back and approved by the Town Board the work would go out for bids. Mike to call LU on how to proceed with the need for engineering work. The windows in the offices The committee agreed that we should get the window that is cracked fixed. Then later on address the windows and siding together. The meeting adjourned at 10:30. |
