Road Sign Ordinance
SECTION
I TITLE/PURPOSE
This ordinance is entitled the Town of Barnes
Road Sign Ordinance. The purpose of this ordinance is to provide for the installation
and enforcement of road signs in the Town of Barnes.
SECTION
II AUTHORITY
The town board of the Town of Barnes has the
specific authority under Chapter 82, Wis. stats., to act in the care and
supervision of all highways under the towns jurisdiction.
SECTION
III ADOPTION OF AN ORDINANCE
The town board of the Town of Barnes, Bayfield County, Wisconsin, by this ordinance, adopted on proper notice, with a quorum and by a roll call vote of the town board present and voting.
SECTION IV ERECTION OF OFFICIAL SIGNS
The town board authorizes and
directs the town highway department to procure, erect and maintain appropriate
standard traffic signs, signals and markings conforming to the rules of the
State Department of Transportation.
Signs shall be erected in such locations and manner as the town highway
department determines will best effect the purpose of this chapter and give
adequate warning to users of the street or highway.
SECTION
VI EFFECTIVE DATE
This ordinance is effective on publication or
posting. The town clerk shall properly post or publish this ordinance
resolution as required under s. 60.80, Wis. stats.
