A General Thank YouThe Barnes Area Historical Association Centennial Planning Committee sincerely wishes to thank all who made the 100th birthday party of the Town of Barnes such a tremendous success. Hundreds of visitors enjoyed a weekend of "Fresh Air", fun and shared memories. Polar Gas Our gratitude to those who donated money, product or service to this memorable event: Nancy Hailey White Birch Supper Club Sincere appreciation for the talented people who demonstrated in our Living History exhibit: Gary Messer Paul Swanson family Thanks to all the local businesses who helped sell buttons, calendars and raffle tickets and to Downtown Barnes for accommodating our monthly meetings. The temporary museum is a product of the generosity of many residents, led by historians David Pease and Quentin Ruprecht. Your hours of research are invaluable and so greatly appreciated. Kurt Kuhlman contributed his collection of information on the resorts of Barnes and the Malo musky. Plans for a permanent museum are being discussed. Our most sincere gratitude to Dave Thorson for writing the book "Barnes, a Breath of Fresh Air" and to the generosity of so many who made the publication of this historic literature possible. To Dick Collyard and the Town Board, we are so grateful for your cooperation and support. The Town of Barnes has never looked so beautiful! We appreciate Jerry Witt and the town crew, Lu Peet and Elaine Brustad for all the extra effort you gave to assist us in making this a most successful event. Many residents gave many hours of their time and talent serving as committee chairpersons or working on a committee. You have been a "Dream Team" and we appreciate each and every one of you so very much! HAPPY 100th BIRTHDAY, BARNES!!!!!!!!! |
