MINUTES OF THE COMPREHENSIVE LAND USE PLANNING COMMITTEE MEETING

OF JUNE 8, 2005

LAND USE ELEMENT MEETING

Comprehensive Land Use Committee

Present: Dave Pease, Leslie Hall, Duke Marten, Donna Porter, Lee Wiesner, Marcia Wellnitz, Dixie Chermack, Gene Ratzel and Dave Scharlau.

Absent: Ron Pearson and Don Zigman.

Present: Dave Pederson

Absent: Dave Thorson, Todd Ruprecht, Michelle Ruprecht, Leigh Jordahl, George Marten, Sharon Moen and Bobbi Pearson.

Public Members present:

Bill DeReu (Plum Creek), Fred Johnson, Karen Johnson, Earl Gregoire, Jack Meinke, Dick Collyard and Chris Webb.

Also present:

Patrick Beilfuss-Cedar Corporation and Tim Kane-UW-Extension Agent Bayfield County

The meeting was called to order by Chairman Dave Pease. Motion by Marcia Wellnitz, seconded by Donna Porter to dispense with the reading of the Minutes and to approve the May Minutes as received by mail. Motion passed.

Earl Gregoire gave a 45 minute presentation on percentages of forested and non-forested land.

We discussed land use again on areas of growth. There were changes suggested on areas which are now designated commercial. Forested land of 40 acres was suggested to be defined as: Private Forest Land with a minimum lot size of 4 ½ acres. Patrick Beilfuss will bring a new map with these areas shown, as well as red dots in the center of each 4 ½ acre lot. We will review this map at the July 13, 2005 meeting to see if this is the direction the committee wants to go.

Motion to adjourn at 9:15PM by Dave Scharlau and seconded by Duke Marten. Motion passed.

The next meeting is July 13, 2005 at 6:30PM at the Barnes Town Hall.
