Comprehensive Land Use
Planning Committee members present: Dave Scharlau,
Duke Marten, Leslie Hall, Carol LeBreck, Donna
Porter, Ron Pearson, Marcia Wellnitz, Dixie Chermack (arrived 7:15PM), Gene Ratzel,
Dave Pease. Absent: Lee Wiesner, and Don Zigman.
Land Use Element members
present: Dave Pederson, Sharon Moen, Dave Thorson. Absent: Todd Ruprecht, Michele Ruprecht, Leigh
Jordahl, George Martin, Bobbi
Pearson.
Also present were Patrick Beilfuss, Tim Kane and Mike Furtak.
Dave Pease called the meeting
to order at
Dave, Gene, Patrick and Tim
made statement concerning public comment at beginning and end of meeting. There will also be a public hearing after the
Comprehensive Lane Use Plan is completed.
Patrick Beilfuss
explained “future land use” and “zoning”. Mike Furtak
explained the “future use map” will eventually be consistant
with zoning as per Bayfield County Map.

After much discussion
concerning who the members are on the original committee and how new members
were added, Tim Kane reminded us that the Town Board appointed the members and
only additions, if any, had to be approved by the Town Board. The comprehensive members took a poll to
determine if we, as a group, wanted to enlarge the committee. Those who voted were Donna Porter, Leslie
Hall, Carol LeBreck, Marcia Wellnitz,
Ron Pearson, Dave Pease, Dave Pederson, Dave Scharlau,
Duke Marten, Gene Ratzel, and Dixie Chermack. The vote

The discussion on size of the
committee led to the idea that breaking up into two groups working on the
future map would be more productive than the current large group working
together. The two groups are as follows:
1) Ron Pearson, Dave Pease, Lee Wiesner,
Marcia Wellnitz, Leslie Hall, Carol LeBreck.

the September 14th meeting.
Both groups will present their future land use map at the September 14th
meeting.
